What do I need to know to do a Solo Shoot? - Photoshoot in Sintra

The old idea that only special moments (weddings, celebrating a pregnancy, or even a new family member…) were justifiable for a photographic record has long since faded.

However, thankfully, that idea has fallen out of fashion, and while it's still important to mark those moments, other important moments, such as simply celebrating ourselves: an achievement, a painful phase, a truly happy or fulfilling phase also deserve to be immortalized.

Individual photo sessions have become a common practice and one of the sessions that people seek me out for. At the beginning of my career, they were a large part of my portfolio. I enjoy doing them, advertising them, and encouraging others to do them, because we should celebrate ourselves more, without any grand reason or purpose. Just because we like ourselves, and that's enough.

But what exactly does it take to do them?

Ultimately, nothing more than yourselves.

Courage to expose vulnerability, to challenge yourselves, to have fun, and to accept yourselves with everything you carry within.

Here, complexes, insecurities, and fears have no place. It's just me, who doesn't know any of those labels of yours or the complexes you've carried throughout your lives, and I see you as a blank book, ready to tell a story.

I seek to record you through what you transmit to me, barefoot and with enthusiasm in your bodies. Happy, serene, and tranquil. All emotions are valid, and I only ask that you bring them so I can record them!

It's easier than it seems, and when it isn't, my role will always be to take you on that journey.

Are you ready to take the challenge?
